There’s a fierce battle raging for your eternal soul. Are you discerning of it? Only a few are, I hope you’re one of them. Anything except the testimony of Jesus and His Holy Spirit will utterly fail you. Do not listen to best-selling authors and people who wax eloquent of speech, for, “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe” (Prov. 29:25).
Do not listen to men and women who speak contrary to Christ and His Holy Spirit. I’m certain the editors of Charisma News were saddened as I was by their headline dated 7/13/2017 saying, “8 Evangelical Leaders Who Have Publically Embraced Apostasy” and then the article goes on to name them – not to gossip, but in love to awaken true saints to our spiritually perilous day.
The article begins with the best-selling author of over 30 books and creator of “The Message” version of the Bible, Eugene Peterson, who “said he would be willing to officiate at a same-sex marriage.” Both he and his “The Message” are indefensibly corrupt. Yet many non-discerning so-called “Spirit-filled” pastors and leaders use The Message from which to preach and teach.
The article continues with “Jen Hatmaker – Evangelical leader, author”, and “Jim Wallis – The founder of Sojourners magazine, was raised evangelical”, and “Matthew Vines who wrote the book, God and The Gay Christian”, and “Rob Bell – former pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church”, and “Trey Pearson – Christian rock musician”, and “Julie Rodgers who speaks and writes as an advocate for LGBT Christians”, and “Rachel Held Evans who the Washington Post called the most polarizing woman in evangelicalism”, and “Vicky Beeching a Christian rock star”.
These 8 so-called Christian leaders are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg of apostate leaders infecting the world. Satan’s death attacks against the truth are increasingly unrestrained, and what’s more – God is allowing Satan that freedom as false church leaders and ear-tickling, culture-accommodating traditions continue to minimalize the Son of the Most High God.
The days of Lot are upon us. “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter” (Isa. 5:20). Yet, that describes much of the big business styled church today. If your church is progressive, then it’s very likely that your pastor has already, if not publically, then silently, backed away from defending God’s Word regarding the abomination of homosexuality and the LGBT agenda.
Many ministry leaders are now “coming out” as homosexual, silently refusing to acknowledge that “even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful…And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased [KJV “reprobate”] mind” (Rom. 1:26–28). Amen!
True love for God and fellowman teaches all of God’s Word, but hate conceals select truths, and “it would have been better for them [false teachers] not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them” (2 Peter 2:21).
