There was a time when mankind was perfectly content to be under the rule and authority of God, until Satan, after being condemned and stripped of his authority by God for rebellion, entered the scene. For millennia, Satan’s revenge against God focused on deceiving God’s prized creation of mankind. Therefore, Satan, inciting further rebellion against God said to the woman, “You shall not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it [the forbidden tree] your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Gen. 3:4–5). The deceit that “you will be like God” continues to this day in the hearts and lives of unregenerate and spiritually fallen mankind. And in this final generation of our time, humanity is on the path of creating artificial intelligence (AI) with the ultimate goal of immortality and man being “like God”.
The threat posed by AI is very real to society and all of humanity, as warned even by its own creators. Unintended consequences could result if AI and biometric technology is not reigned in. I’m reminded of what God said about the ungodly ambitions of men when they were building the Tower of Babel: “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them” (Gen. 11:6). The world today with its instant computer-generated language translation, effectively has only one language. The transfer of technological knowledge, language, and data has no impediments.
At Babel, before humanity could achieve the intended goal of being “like God”, the Almighty intervened in man’s proud ambition. But for this final generation God’s Word yet stands: “now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them”. The world is on the path to realize what Ray Kurzweil said: “Humans will achieve immortality in eight years”. The goal is by 2030. “Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, and a host of other tech leaders and artificial intelligence experts are urging AI labs to pause development of powerful new AI systems in an open letter citing potential risks to society.” (Source: FOX News) Will God allow man to create immortality by AI technology? I don’t know, but that’s their goal, and God did say “nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them”. If evil people achieve their goal of deceptive immortality, it will be short-lived, because God in Christ Jesus will once again intervene by His end-time judgments.
“While Americans get increasingly hypnotized by 2024 election coverage, where all they’re hearing about is the theatrics surrounding Donald Trump, the globalists and technocrats are moving rapidly to install a new global economic order that will outmaneuver the political system and enslave humanity… Trump is the perfect polarizing figure to distract Americans at this key moment in history. Keep your gaze on him and you’re guaranteed to miss the bigger picture.” (Source: LeoHohmann.com) As we’re deceptively distracted from end-time machinations, our need for humility, repentance, and true faith with submission to Christ has never been greater.
Powerful AI could create the false prophet. “And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed” (Rev. 13:14–15).
