Does God have a chosen people…a special people? Because of Dispensational Theology there are many misguided Christians today who falsely believe that God’s chosen and special people are yet unbelieving Orthodox and national Jews. But if you believe the God of the Bible you will cast aside Dispensationalism’s unbelief, because God clearly answers those questions and much more for those willing to believe Him rather than traditions of men “making the word of God of no effect through your traditions which you have handed down” (Mark 7:13). God desires that you be free from traditions of men in order to know the truth, for His truth will make you free.
At the outset, God said to ancient Israel, “Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people, for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exo. 19:5–6). But Israel did not obey, but repeatedly rebelled, disbelieved God, fell into idolatry, and went whoring after wicked nations around her until God put her away and gave “her [Israel] a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also” (Jer. 3:8). Thus, divorced, unbelieving, rebellious Jews of Israel ceased being God’s chosen people.
Therefore, God’s Spirit said to post-Calvary believers, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but have now obtained mercy” (1 Peter 2: 9–10). In this, we see a clear shift in who God’s chosen and special people are. Post-Calvary, God doesn’t look on physical unbelieving Jews, as His Jews, and here’s why: “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, [as in physical Jew] nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh, but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; [by new birth faith in Christ] and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God” (Rom. 2:28–29). True believers are the true Jews God recognizes, for ever since God called Abram, “the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Rom. 11:29). Hereby we know that Dispensational Theology has created a massive crisis of true identity as regards true, believing, born-again, Christians.
Orthodox Jews know God gave Israel “a certificate of divorce”, the Old Testament declares it, and so it is that Orthodox Jews hate Christians. This article tells how Orthodox Jews and their children hate Christians. “Shocking video going viral on social media shows a large group of Jewish children cursing and assaulting two Christian female missionaries in Israel with their parents’ full support.” Watch the video. The article concludes: “If a mob of Christian children together with their parents were seen abusing Jewish women in New York City and trying to expel them from their community for their religious views, it would be international news and the ADL would be screaming for hate crime prosecutions, instead the story has been relegated to social media with the controlled press ignoring it entirely!” That article is 100 percent correct!
God said of unbelieving Jews: “they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again” (Rom. 11:23); at which time, they also become true Jews “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood…His own special people” (1 Peter 2:9).
