God Cannot Be Mocked

America is suffering devastation in many places. But nationwide the US has had God’s word preached within it for decades and should have repented long ago, but instead mocks God by its pro-abortion, LGBTQ+, wars and other agendas. Though giving lip service to Him, the US is against Christ. Lawgivers create laws that lead people in unbelief, rebellion, lawlessness and violence. America can expect continued catastrophes unless she repents. And the seven-year tribulation now at the door will magnify those apocalyptic disasters. But will the nation repent? Given the season of the end-times it seems unlikely. It seems many politicians want America to be like the evil cities of Sodom and Gomorrah which Jesus said would accompany the end-times according to Luke 17:28–29. But God justly destroyed those two evil LGBTQ+ cities by raining fire and brimstone upon them. Could the US be destroyed in like manner? It’s a real possibility.

God can’t be mocked without consequence. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Gal. 6:7). That reaping can be immediate or delayed as God sees fit. In 2 Kings 2, Elijah’s prophetic spirit is transferred to his successor Elisha upon Elijah being taken up from the earth in a whirlwind and fiery chariot. Elisha asked that “a double portion of your spirit be upon me” (2:9). And so it was “when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, ‘The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha” (2:15). As Elisha walked toward Bethel “some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, ‘Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!’ So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths” (2:23–24). In a slightly different way perhaps, the US is being mauled from coast to coast with one disaster after another disaster.

Yet, mocking God in the US is quite common. But note these two very consequential promises from God. “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matt. 12:37). And “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Prov. 18:21). Many people, including too many Christians, don’t even know that God made such promises. If many pastors across America only had the courage, or should I say had a true calling from God to be ministers of the gospel and preached the truth, then many would turn to God who “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:4). But before truth can be received it must be fearlessly preached to those who have ears to hear.

God does not change, Mal. 3:6 and Heb. 13:8, and in that context I call your attention to the city of Nineveh to which God commanded Jonah to preach, saying “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me” (Jonah 1:2). But Jonah fled instead to Tarshish. So, Jonah suffered an event of great persuasion in learning to obey God. You know the account, the storm at sea, Jonah was thrown overboard and swallowed by a great fish, and after three days was vomited onto dry ground. Again God said, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you” (Jonah 3:2). Then “Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” (Jonah 3:4), and “the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them” (Jonah 3:5). People repented, and “God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it” (Jonah 3:10)! If more pastors preached whole truth and not cultural PC that tickles the ears of unbelievers, more would come to repentance and true faith in Christ? Otherwise God’s word at John 3:36b will be their reality.

Watching several of the Senate confirmation hearings for members of President-elect Trump’s incoming cabinet, reminded me of just how self-serving, pretentious and hypocritical many of our lawgivers are. It was appalling to watch Democrats grill Trump’s nominees. But here’s the reality – those hypocritical politicians were elected by their constituents! The majority of people in their districts voted for them! It’s unconscionable that the majority of people from any district could vote that way! But the truth is, they did so because they share the same hypocritical beliefs of those they elected! And that’s a spiritual indictment against the immoral conditions of The US today. Do people think God does not see and hear? Do they think they’ll escape His judgments?

The coming seven-year tribulation will be filled with one judgment after another, after another and then yet another. And like the Spirit says, “when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape” (1 Thess. 5:3). I’ve heard numerous testimonies about pastors who refuse to teach the Revelation of Jesus Christ and its apocalyptic truths because “they don’t want to scare their people”. But it’s true that pastors are supposed to equip their people in the knowledge of the truth that people are prepared to endure to the end of this age just as Jesus taught at Matt. 24:13. This is one reason why my new book “ON EAGLES’ WINGS” is vitally important as it clearly identifies what it means to be born again, what one’s identity after new birth faith truly is, and how to find God’s place of safety and provision for the last 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation. If you haven’t yet gotten your copy, let me encourage you to get one for yourself, family members and friends.

Now, I want to address something of great importance. Many Christians are putting their hope and trust in President-elect Trump to “save America”. But Trump is not the answer. Only true repentant faith in Jesus Christ can heal the nation. While I like Trump’s conservative values my spirit senses a warning. Trump promises to bring in a new “golden age of America”. He has said that repeatedly. Now, to all those who know God’s word for the time of the end, you know that there’s a time just ahead that the world will consider a “golden age”. However, the only earthly golden age ahead is Antichrist’s seven-year rule, because it will bring the deceptive global unity, peace and safety that will be made by Antichrist as he unites religious, political and economic differences, and as a result “all the world marveled and followed the beast” (Rev. 13:3). Now please hear me very loud and clear Trump is NOT the Antichrist! But will he unwittingly help implement the end-time “Peace and safety!” of 1 Thess. 5:3? I think that’s altogether possible.

“And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!” (Rev. 6:15–16). In that great Day who will be able to stand?
