Trump Is Not Our Hope

Friday, September 30, 2022

There is a deceptive and destructive disconnect between many professing Christians and their adoration, nay, more aptly, worship, of former President Donald Trump. They’ve been spiritually blinded by the many good things he did for America as president. They are mesmerized by the mirage of Trump being the hope for America. They’ve not measured him in light of God’s Word, failing to discern that he too is a mere man with political interests polluted by pride, for “a man is valued [tested] by what others say of him” (Prov. 27:21b). And Trump is a man who had no less than 75,000,000 who voted for him and praised what he did. Many exalted in the man rather than God who temporarily put Trump in the White House. Many also failed to realize that God gave the Church President Trump as a four-year reprieve, I believe, to refocus and realign leadership to prepare the Church for these end-times, but that reprieve has indeed expired in January 2021.

And the evangelical church did not seize upon that four-year reprieve, seemingly more interested in preaching the day’s political correctness. For four years, God, through President Trump, held at bay the spiritually toxic anti-Christ policies of the Obama/Biden regime. It was an opportunity for the church to regroup with clear end-time revelations from God’s Word to prepare and equip its people to face the Tribulation just ahead. But as it now stands the evangelical church is even in worse shape than before. “About a third of evangelicals say Jesus was a “good teacher” but was not God, according to a LifeWay Research study created for Ligonier Ministries.”

For years I’ve taught that former President Donald Trump has given believers significant cause to distrust him, and to stop exalting in him as if he is our deliverer from the atrocities created by former President Obama which not only now continue, but are greatly increased under radical President Joe Biden’s leftist agenda. Nor is the Republican Party our deliverer, nor our hope.

There is no one, president or otherwise, who will deliver and protect from end-time evils and destructions decreed by God. Many pre-trib believers refuse to believe the testimony of Christ applies to them, but they do so to their own peril. Conditions for Christians will not grow better, but worse. Evils and destructions will dominate this side of the resurrection rapture “at the last day” (John 6:40, 44, 54). The end-times will be exactly as Christ foretold, for “you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matt. 24:6–8). It’s important that we discern present, increasing end-time sorrows.

Stop mourning the loss of President Donald Trump in the White House, and turn your heart fully to believe the testimony of Christ, preparing to stand firm in these increasingly wicked end-times when our enemy, Satan and his Antichrist, are deceptively in search of eternal souls. The wicked now incite wars and rumors of wars, seeing it as a means to their end of depopulating humanity. I won’t be surprised if literal nuclear war breaks out between Russia, Ukraine, NATO and the US. Depopulating wars are incited by elite globalists. Were such a nuclear attack to develop, life on earth would dramatically change overnight. Nuclear radiation fallout would be certain, millions would die instantly, but hundreds of millions more would die slowly from radiation poisoning. Our lives could be called to account at any moment of any day now. Are you prepared to stand before the Son of Man should such a nuclear holocaust occur? We do not have the promise of tomorrow, nor even of the next hour, because God lends us our breath and life. And what we do with our life will one day be judged by God. Will we have believed Christ or traditions of men?

There’s an old adage that many of us grew up with that says “Only one life will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” That’s very true. When we come to the Day of Judgment, what will we offer Almighty God? Political activism? Academic accolades? Ascension of the corporate ladder? Stock investment portfolios? Big bank accounts? Did we value PC or traditions that led away from the testimony of Jesus? Or did we produce works of faith that led people to the end-time testimony of Christ, teaching them to endure to the end per Matt. 24:13, which honors the Lord Jesus? But even now, before the Day of Judgment are we ashamed of Christ’s testimony? Are we afraid to stand against the false traditions of men so commonplace in the organized church? Do we timidly and fearfully go along to get along with the organized church mandates rather than face the headwinds and opposition of those who silence the testimony of Christ? If so, then who, really, is our Lord? Do we revere traditions of men more than Christ?

Don’t misunderstand me, President Trump was the best president of my life. He did much good by rolling back the immoral and ungodly executive orders of President Obama. But Trump also rolled out his own Operation Warp Speed to get the population vaccinated with an experimental, untested and outright harmful COVID-19 vaccine! And whose advice did Trump follow on the economy-destroying lockdowns, the face masking, school closings and business shutdowns? Dr. Anthony Fauci, the globalist who today admits that his tactics were draconian! Yet, he, Trump, a successful businessman, and US president, gave Dr. Fauci free reign to indiscriminately destroy the economy, families, livelihoods, and school children’s educational ability. And worse than all of that, as I’ve mentioned before, he gave his own daughter’s hand, Ivanka, in marriage to Jared Kushner, an Orthodox Jew, which required Ivanka to renounce her Christian faith, as Orthodox Jews hate the very name of Jesus Christ! That’s irreversible denial of faith, Heb. 6:4–8, and just as God will judge all, so too God will judge Donald Trump for that spiritually traitorous act.

Yet, there are millions of Christians salivating for Trump’s reinstatement as president, including many false prophets. Why? So he can roll out more harmful vaccines that maimed and/or killed thousands of people? Spiritually, Donald Trump cannot be trusted. He must never be the object of hope for a better life which comes only by grace through faith in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Christians, turn your desire toward God and His Christ and altogether away from false prophets, or desiring Trump as the hope of America. Trump is not the hope of this nation, but true faith in Jesus Christ is. If God wants Trump to serve another term as president, God will raise him up to that again. But today’s praise-seeking false prophets are exactly as Christ foretold at Matt. 24:11, and believers must discern them, else they become dangerously ensnared in their shameless and God-dishonoring false prophetic enterprises. Remember, for His intended purposes, “He [God] changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings” (Dan. 2:21). Let’s be content with whoever God raises to the office of president, for God knows how best to bring the end-times to their prophetic end and to gather His elect saints to Himself “Immediately after the tribulation of those days” (Matt. 24:29–31), “at the last day” (John 6:40), at the seventh trumpet (Rev. 11:15–18), when “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven” (1 Thess. 4:16). Amen.
