Comorbidity of Sickness

Friday, August 4, 2023

In general, America and the whole world has contracted an incurable comorbidity of spiritual sickness. What the world does today in broad daylight is a manifestation of latent wickedness that’s been resident in the hearts, minds and spirits of many people, but is now being exposed because, God, who is the restrainer of evil, is increasingly removing His restraint of those evils in fulfillment of 2 Thess. 2:7. As a result, the wicked indoctrination of innocent children to the LGBTQ+ and transgender agendas that two decades ago would have gotten one thrown in jail, have today, become the norm. The abominations of genital mutilations and drag shows for the exploitation of children is now common in news headlines. But these evils will only get worse.

Comorbidity of evils will not be stopped until the second coming of Christ. And for that reason I implore every fellow believer in Christ to immerse yourself in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Do not allow the evil, proud, depravity of the world near your heart, mind and spirit. “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, [that’s our obligation] looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; [we must have spiritual discernment] but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh” (Jude 1:20–23), and the Spirit exhorts us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17), and “Do not quench the Spirit” (1 Thess. 5:19). Let’s keep ourselves by the truths of God’s Word.

That comorbidity of sickness has spread to much of the Western church, a corrupt church that needs to heed the Words of Christ: “And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come” (Rev. 2:21–25). Indeed, let us “hold fast”!

And “How do we hold fast what we have until Jesus comes again?” you may ask. God answers that: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [that’s our part] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:4–7). When the Apostle Peter kept his eyes on the Lord Jesus, he did the miraculous; he walked on water! But when he took his eyes off Jesus, “he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid” (Matt. 14:30), and immediately began to sink, but Jesus saved him! Let us keep our eyes on the prize of Christ Jesus, for if we don’t give up, He will also rescue us from spiritual sicknesses afflicting the world with woes that cause pride, fear, anxiety, and turmoil every day.

Sadly, too many believers today are on prescription drugs for depression and anxiety, or are in therapy sessions. This should not be, for God said: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you” (Isa. 26:3). Let’s keep our minds on Christ.
